Merchants Association"
We have a dream for the city of Kimmswick,
and we would like to share it with you!
We envision a memorial built in the town to honor our Veterans. This
would be a tranquil place where people could come
to relax and view the beauty of this site.
The memorial would consist of a taller wall at the back of the site,
and would be around 6 to 7 feet tall. The wall would probably travel
the entire width of the memorial. Immediately in front of the wall
would be a walkway made out of bricks. These bricks would be for sale,
and would allow you to honor a person of your choice. Their name would
be sandblasted in the brick for all to see.
(Please see below to view sample.)
We are pleased to announce that local
artist, (and master-craftsman!),
Rob Chance has joined our effort. Rob brings a lot to the table with
his talents and skills.
Rob has had considerable experience in doing this type of work, and
as you can see
from the picture above, he certainly excels in this type of work.
On Monday Feb. 26th, several Promote
Kimmswick Merchant Association members meet with
Mrs. Laura Ward, Mrs. Abby Pikul and Mr. Bryan Pruett from the
"National Art Honor Society WHS"
To the merchants surprise they were presented
with a rough draft of what the National Art Honor Society envision
the memorial to be.
The Promote Kimmswick Merchants Association
will present this plan to its members at their next meeting for approval.
March 8, 2007
Promote Kimmswick Merchants Association
held their monthly meeting.
All the members were present and excited to hear about the progress
of the memorial.
"National Art Honor Society WHS"
was there to present the group with the 3D project they did.
It was voted unanimously to accept the proposal for the design.
